The Essex Hub
Volunteer engaging with young person outdoors

Volunteer With Us

Not all volunteering looks the same.

The Essex Hub CIC supports children and adults through structured outdoor wellbeing provision.

Our sessions are calm, small-group, and designed for people who don't engage in traditional settings.

Volunteers play a role in supporting that environment.

This is not casual volunteering.
It's structured, supported, and part of a wider system.

Where volunteers fit

Volunteers support delivery partners during sessions.

That might include:

  • Helping set up and pack down
  • Supporting individuals in a calm, low-pressure way
  • Being an extra pair of eyes within small groups
  • Assisting with basic tasks during sessions

You are not expected to:

  • Lead sessions
  • Provide therapy or advice
  • Manage behaviour alone

Who this suits

This role suits people who:

Are calm, patient, and reliable

Are comfortable in outdoor environments

Can work with children or adults who may be anxious or disengaged

Understand the importance of boundaries

Experience is useful but not essential. Attitude matters more.
